The Aber^TM Live Cell Analyser 920 is a unique dual-purpose instrument for either off-line or on-line measurement of live biomass. It uses the acclaimed state of the art capacitance technology from Aber Instruments that has become the standard measurement for biomass in companies throughout the world. You have the option of taking a sample from a bioreactor or flask and then transferring to the Model 920 for a live biomass measurement. Alternatively, the Live Cell Analyser an can be used as a on-line instrument for bioprocess monitoring and control by connecting to an Aber^TM biomass probe within your bioreactor.

Used as a laboratory instrument, the 920 allows the viable biomass concentrations to be measured within seconds with high precision and repeatability. With yeasts or animal cell it can free up time by eliminating time consuming dilution, manual counting under the microscope and the addition of dyes. Cells attached to microcarriers can measured without any pretreatment to provide a true live cell count. With applications such as filamentous bacteria (eg streptomyces) and fungi (eg penicillium) the Aber^TM technology is the only method available for live biomass estimation within seconds
