The Aber Instruments Biomass Monitor has been extensively  used to control  feed rates & set points in cGMP applications. 

The technology has found a significant niche in process control whereby a constant biomass level is maintained during cell culture by a feedback mechanism based upon the capacitance of the culture determined by the Biomass Monitor.  In the example below a perfused bireactor is maintained with a constant level of live HeLa cells for 2 months.
