Why work for ABER Instruments?
At Aber Instruments we specialise in the design, manufacture and distribution of high quality electronic instrumentation for brewing and biotech industries worldwide.
ABER Instruments is located at the purpose-built Science Park in the thriving University-town of Aberystwyth, Mid Wales.
Aberystwyth is a place of many qualities: it combines the beauty of the west coast and the Snowdonia mountains with the architecture of a grand Victorian heritage and the buzz of a leading University (In 2012 voted within the top 5 in the world for student satisfaction).
With fresh air, clean beaches, quality restaurants and a busy nightlife (especially during term time!) it’s a great place to live. And though at times it can feel a million miles from anywhere, you’re only ever 3 hours by train from Birmingham International Airport, or under 4 and a half from Central London.
With clean beaches, surfing, sailing (and fresh seafood!) the coast is certainly part of our identity. The Wales Coastal Path goes through the town – Ours is the only country in the world that you can literally walk ‘around’! Locals also head inland to enjoy quality mountain biking, hiking and rock-climbing.
The town boasts an Arts Centre for music, culture and entertainment; a vibrant multi-lingual bar scene; a stunning castle; a cliff railway and a listed promenade. And while we do get our fair share of wind and rain, when the setting sun shines upon the Irish Sea we guarantee you’ll feel truly blessed to call Aberystwyth home. So what are you waiting for?
Aberystwyth is a compact town. Youcan live close to the action (but also the peace and quiet) meaning your commute is likely to be measured in minutes rather than hours or fractions thereof.
There is a reliable train service from the east and bus links to take you up and down the coast.
A direct service to Birmingham operates regularly. Connections are available at Shrewsbury for routes to Manchester, Liverpool and South Wales.
Birmingham International is only 3 hours by rail. Airports at Manchester, Liverpool and London are all within reasonable distance and connected to the rail system.
