Aber at Brau Beviale 2010

At Brau Beviale 2010, Aber will display the next generation of “Compact” Yeast Monitors and Lab Yeast Analysers, designed for breweries that require competitively priced, user-friendly instruments for pitching and cropping applications.

The Aber Yeast Monitors are recognized today as the most accurate and reliable instruments for measuring the LIVE cell concentration on-line and this technology enables brewing groups such as AB InBev, SAB Miller, Heineken and Diageo to have more consistent fermentation processes.  Many breweries have also benefited from improvements in the quality of the pitching yeast or from reduced fermentation times.

With the new range, Aber has condensed its advanced radio-frequency impedance technology into a compact IP65 housing that fits easily on to standard instrument housings such as the Tuchenhagen Varivent. For the most cost effective solution,  the instrument can communicate directly to the PLC via Modibus or a 4-20mA current loop and an optional transmitter will be available if required.

In order to simplify calibration and start up the “Compact” series will be suitable for breweries that use up to 20 yeast strains and it will have a tighter restriction of yeast conductivity compared with previous models. The “Compact” Yeast Monitors are designed to be used in real time with yeast slurries in the range of 5-70% viable spun solids and the system is maintenance free.
