We have now built up a wealth of experience with all aspects of biomass monitoring and have rapidly gained recognition for our expertise in the development of instrumentation for biotechnology and brewing.

Aber invented and pantented a unique method for measuring live biomass and set up the company to exploit this technology in 1988.

The company's expertise in biomass measurement is supplemented by close links with the University of Wales, Aberystwyth where Professor Douglas Kell (now at The University of Manchester and also the new Chief Executive of BBSRC) &colleagues have extensive experience.  http://dbkgroup.org

To date, Aber has supplied over 900 systems world-wide for the on-line measurement of viable biomass.

The Yeast Monitor is now established as the standard for on-line yeast concentration measurement in breweries and international companies such as Anheuser Busch, SABMiller, Inbev, Coors, Diageo, Heineken, Suntory and San Miguel have benefited from using the instrument.

The Biomass monitor is recognised as the online intsrument for viable cell mass by the worlds leading pharmaceutical companies such as Genetech, Novo, Biogen Idec,GlaxoSmithkline, Centocor, Sandoz, Eli Lilly and Genzyme. In June 2008 Aber signed an agreement with Applikon BV to incorporate the first viable biomass monitoring system into a commercial controller. 

In 2008, Aber celebrated 20 years of innovation and success with promotional events at the Biotechnica and Brau exhibitions.  With the experience Aber has gained over the last two decades you can be rest assured of dependable service, support and expertise.
