The standard by which success is measured.

ABER Innovation… applied

A standard can only be set if the correct variables have been defined, agreed and measured.

Over 30 years ago ABER Instruments pioneered a new dimension to biomass measurement when Professor Douglas Kell and Dr Robert Todd from the University of Aberystwyth and the Centre for Alternative Technology invented and patented a unique method for biomass monitoring using radiofrequency impedance.

Fast-forward to the present day and we’re a successful global company with a portfolio of ‘manufacturing ready’ advanced certified systems already in use in the Brewing, Biotech, Biorenewables, and Biofuel industries. And, we’re proud to have many of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical and brewing companies – including Glaxo Smithkline, Novartis, ABInBev, Heineken, and SAB Miller – as our customers.

We think of ourselves as more than just a specialist tech solution provider. We believe in challenging convention and finding better ways of doing things, because we know that by doing this we can drive change.

Shared purpose and core values

Beyond measure

As an Employee Owned business, having a clear understanding and unified ‘purpose’ is integral to how we operate, innovate and grow.

This is even more significant and important than it would be in more traditionally owned or funded organisations. It’s what sets us apart from our competitors, other tech solutions providers, and progressive employers. And, it’s what makes us strive to always to better.

We call this our Guiding Purpose.

It directly influences our ethos, values and our behaviour in everything we do.

it enables us to consistently act with integrity.

It underwrites the promise we make to our customers, our partners, the communities we work in, and each other as employee owners, every day.

And, it reminds and enables us to maintain our commitments to innovation, value creation, sustainability openness, and collective responsibility.

Here at ABER we recognise that we have past, a present and a future. Each generation benefits from our past and has a responsibility to protect and build our role and legacy for the future.

This is why our core principles of

  • Collaboration
  • Innovation
  • Application
  • Optimisation

are inspired by a shared belief, that…

ABER sets the standard by which success is measured.
